How would I calculate the following probability problem?
A total population of 26177 units were produced and inspected 100%. 3 defects were found during this inspection. What is the probability that there would have been units that escaped this inspection and if so how many could I expect there to be in the remaining population?
750 units were produced each day and the defects all came from an area where 44 each day were produced totaling a subpopulation of 1665 units within the total population. If during a 100% inspection of 26177, what would the probability be that they would all come from this same subpopulation?
